An organic electroluminescent element according to the present invention which has a pair of electrodes and a perovskite film formed between the pair of electrodes, wherein the perovskite film has a structure in which an inorganic layer and an organic layer that contains organic molecules are disposed in an alternating manner, and the inorganic layer and the organic layer satisfy Eg(O) > Eg(I) > E S1 (O). Eg(O) represents the energy gap between HOMO and LUMO in the organic layer, Eg(I) represents the band gap between the valence band and the conduction band in the inorganic layer, and E S1 (O) represents the minimum excited singlet energy level of the organic layer. |
