abstract | A device for the semiquantitative detection of a yeast of the Brettanomyces genus in an alcoholic beverage, which comprises a test tube fitted with a removable stopper and adapted to receive a preset quantity of the alcoholic beverage, and a solid culture medium applied to an elongated support which is integral with the stopper and extends inside the test tube so as to be immersed in the alcoholic beverage, wherein the solid culture medium comprises, per liter of medium: - from 0.02 g to 20 g of a glutarimide antibiotic, preferably cycloheximide; - from 0.01 g to 20 g of an antibiotic of the amphenicol class, preferably chloramphenicol; - from 0.01 g to 20 g of p-cumaric acid; - from 1 g to 30 g of Yeast Nitrogen Base (YNB) culture medium; - from 0.99 g to 99 g of ethanol; - from 1 g to 30 g of a gelifying substance suitable for the production of a medium for microbiological culture. |
