abstract The present invention relates to alkali-free glass comprising, in mol% in terms of oxides, 63-75% SiO 2 , 10-16% Al 2 O 3 , 0-5% B 2 O 3 , 0.1-15% MgO, 0.1-12% CaO, 0-8% SrO, and 0-6% BaO, wherein the ratio [MgO]/[CaO] is 1.5 or less, formula (A) returns a value of 82.5 or greater, formula (B) returns a value of 690-800, inclusive, formula (C) returns a value of 100 or less, formula (D) returns a value of 20 or less, the Young's modulus is 83 GPa or greater, and the surface devitrification viscosity η c is 10 4.2 d Pa·s or greater.
