abstract The invention relates to an endoscope (2) having an endoscope head (4), which is arranged on the distal end of the endoscope (2), preferably on the distal end portion of an actively curvable shaft portion (3), and which has at least one lens (6) for imaging, and a working channel (14), which extends in or on the endoscope (2) along the longitudinal direction thereof, the working channel output of which is arranged on or in the endoscope head (2) and is arranged having a defined alignment relative to the lens (6). The endoscope (2) furthermore has a pivot mechanism (10), which is arranged between the distal shaft portion and the endoscope head (4) and which is designed to hold the endoscope head (4) together with the working channel such that said endoscope head can unfold or bend.
