abstract | Provided is a novel polyamide resin that has a high melting point and a composition and a molded article that use the polyamide resin. A polyamide resin that is formed from: structural units that are derived from a diamine; and structural units that are derived from a dicarboxylic acid. At least 70 mol% of the structural units that are derived from a diamine are derived from a xylylenediamine, and at least 70 mol% of the structural units that are derived from a dicarboxylic acid are derived from a phenylenediacetate. When X mol% of the structural units that are derived from a dicarboxylic acid are derived from 1,4-phenylenediacetate, and Y mol% of the structural units that are derived from a diamine are derived from para-xylylenediamine, X+(Y/3) is at least 68. |
