abstract | A pharmaceutical composition comprising: (i) aspirin in an amount of 10-40 wt%; (ii) citrate salt in an amount of 60-90 wt%; (iii) a sweetening agent in an amount of 1-10 wt%, and optionally, (iv) up to 0.1 wt% of a pharmaceutically acceptable surfactant, wherein the wt% is by weight of the pharmaceutical composition, and components (i)-(iii) are in a micronized state. Also described herein is a method of preparing a pharmaceutical composition of claim 1, the method comprising: (i) micronization milling of a particulate mixture comprising aspirin, citrate salt, and optionally, a sweetening agent, to result in a micronized particulate mixture; and (ii) spray fluid bed granulation and drying of said micronized particulate mixture to result in a granulated mixture comprising aspirin, citrate salt, and optionally, sweetening agent, in the amounts provided above. |
