A heat dissipation member that dissipates heat that has been generated by a heat source. The heat dissipation member comprises: a substrate that has a porosity of no more than 5 volume%; and an inorganic porous layer that is provided on the surface of the substrate, has a porosity of 25–85 volume%, and has a lower thermal conductivity than the substrate. Alumina is at least 15 mass% of the constituent components of the inorganic porous layer of the heat dissipation member. |
