abstract |
[Problem] The purpose of the present invention is to provide an alkaline battery separator which is suitable for manufacturing an alkaline battery with good productivity and which suppresses occurrence of winding shifts of the separator when incorporating the separator into a battery while satisfying various characteristics that are necessary for an alkaline battery separator. [Solution] An alkaline battery separator which comprises at least one type of an alkali-resistant fiber and a binder and which has two surfaces, wherein the content of the binder is 5 to 20 mass% relative to the total mass of the separator, the value [Ra(A)/Ra(B)] is 0.700 to 0.980 where the arithmetic average surface roughness Ra(A) of a surface A, which is the smoother of the two surfaces of the separator, is divided by the arithmetic average surface roughness Ra(B) of a surface B, which is the rougher of the surfaces, and the arithmetic average surface roughness Ra(B) of the surface B is 3.0 to 10 μm. |
