titleOfInvention Pulse sensor for detecting the pulse of a living organism
abstract In various exemplary embodiments, a pulse sensor (20) for detecting the pulse of a living organism is provided, comprising: at least one light source (22) configured and arranged such that when the pulse sensor (20) is used as intended, said at least one light source emits light in the direction of tissue (30) of the living organism that is supplied with blood, wherein the tissue (30) that is supplied with blood scatters the light, and wherein the scattered light is modulated depending on the pulse of the living organism; at least one luminescent concentrator (50) which comprises an entrance surface, an exit surface, which is smaller than the entrance surface, and fluorescent material arranged in the light path between the entrance surface and the exit surface and which is configured and arranged such that at least one part of the modulated scattered light enters the luminescent concentrator (50) through the entrance surface, that the light which has entered is converted by the fluorescent material, the converted light being modulated in a manner corresponding to the modulated scattered light, and that the modulated converted light propagates in the luminescent concentrator (50) toward the exit surface and emerges from the exit surface; and at least one light detector (24) which detects at least one part of the modulated converted light emerging from the exit surface.
