The invention relates to a method for regenerating an at least partially spent catalyst formed from a hydrodesulfurization process of a sulfur-containing olefinic gasoline cut, said at least partially spent catalyst being derived from a fresh catalyst comprising at least one metal of group VIII (in particular Co), a metal of group VIB (in particular Mo), an oxide support, said method comprising the following steps: • a) regenerating the at least partially spent catalyst in an oxygen-containing gas stream at a temperature of between 350 °C and 550 °C, • b) contacting the regenerated catalyst with an impregnation solution containing a compound comprising a metal of group VIB, the molar ratio of the metal of group VIB added per metal of group VIB already present in the regenerated catalyst being between 0.15 and 2.5 mol/mol, • c) a drying step is carried out at a temperature of less than 200 °C. The invention also relates to the use of the regenerated catalyst in such a hydrodesulfurization process. |
