Method for detecting microorganism in blood sample |
abstract |
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a method which has excellent simplicity and rapidness and can detect a microorganism in a blood sample with high accuracy. A method comprising the following steps (a) to (c) in this order: (a) subjecting a culture of a blood sample collected from a subject to a centrifugation treatment at a relative centrifugal force of about 213 × g for about 1 minute to separate the culture into a supernatant fraction and a precipitate fraction; (b) producing a microorganism fraction from the supernatant fraction obtained in step (a); and (c) analyzing as to whether or not a microorganism is contained in the microorganism fraction using a mass spectrometer. By employing the method, it becomes possible to detect as to whether or not the subject is infected with a specific microorganism with high accuracy. |
