titleOfInvention Improved device for removing volatile organic compounds
abstract The present invention relates to a device for removing volatile organic compounds, which comprises: at least one first connector (100) disposed on an outlet of a gas stream to be treated, the upper part of which comprises a connection extension (200) by means of which it connects to a bioreactor (300) containing a nutrient solution in which organisms that degrade volatile organic compounds grow, the bioreactor being disposed in the central part of the device, while the upper part has a dispersion arrangement (400) that is coupled at the top to an outlet (500) through which the treated gas stream is released to the atmosphere; and a distribution network (600) for distributing the nutrient solution containing organisms that degrade volatile organic compounds, wherein the connection extension (200) firstly comprises a distributor cone (201) that is invertedly arranged, is internally empty and has a cylindrical extension (202) in its upper part. The distributor cone (201) allows the fluid to be displaced along an external path in the internal walls of the distributor cone (201), which in the portion of the cylindrical extension (202) is connected to a second perforated cylinder (203) comprising a plurality of through-holes all around its periphery, and wherein the axial axis thereof coincides with the axial axis of the distributor cone (201), the perforations in the second perforated cylinder (203) being disposed so that the released gas can enter the bioreactor (300) through its lower part.
