abstract |
A battery according to the present invention is provided with: a cylindrical battery can having an opening edge section at one end section thereof; an electrode body; and a sealing member for sealing an opening surrounded by the opening edge section. The sealing member has: a sealing plate electrically connected to a first electrode of the electrode body; a cap that has a through-hole corresponding to the sealing plate and that is electrically insulated from the sealing plate; and a gasket for sealing the space between a cylindrical section and the cap. The cap has: a ring-shaped top plate section facing the cylindrical section; a side wall section that stands upright from a circumferential edge of the top plate section in the axial direction of the cylindrical section and that extends so as to overlap an outer surface of the cylindrical section; and a rib section that stands upright from an inner side of the side wall section of the top plate section in the axial direction and that extends so as to overlap an inner surface of the cylindrical section. The gasket is compressed in the radial direction of the cylindrical section between the rib section and the cylindrical section. The battery can and the cap are electrically connected to a second electrode of the electrode body. |
