abstract The present application relates to a feed supplement composition for dairy cows, comprising N-acetyl-L-tryptophan (NALT), and more specifically, to a feed supplement composition comprising NALT as an effective component for increasing the feed intake of a dairy cow, increasing the weight at birth of a calf born to a dairy cow, increasing the milk production of a dairy cow, increasing the milk protein content of a dairy cow, and enhancing immunity of a calf born to a dairy cow; a feed comprising the feed supplement composition for dairy cows; a method for increasing the feed intake of a dairy cow, a method for increasing the weight at birth of a calf born to a dairy cow, a method for increasing the milk production of a dairy cow, a method for increasing the milk protein content of a dairy cow, and a method for enhancing the immunity of a calf born to a dairy cow, each of which comprises a step of feeding, to the dairy cow, a feed supplement composition or feed comprising NALT as an effective component. The N-acetyl-L-tryptophan (NALT) of the present application increases the feed intake of a dairy cow, the weight at birth of a calf born to the dairy cow, the milk production of the dairy cow, the milk protein content of the dairy cow, and enhances the immunity of a calf born to the dairy cow, and thus can be beneficially used by being included as an effective component in a feed supplement composition or feed.
