Provided is a liquid crystal aligning agent with which a liquid crystal aligning agent that exhibits good applicability to a substrate can obtained, and with which a liquid crystal element that has a reduced amount of residual electric charge accumulation can be obtained. The liquid crystal aligning agent comprises a polymer (P) that has a partial structure represented by formula (A) and an organic solvent that has a particular structure and has a boiling point of 190°C or lower at 1 atmosphere.
