titleOfInvention | Transgenic maize nuclear male sterility maintainer line and application thereof |
abstract | Disclosed by the present invention are a transgenic maize nuclear male-sterile maintainer line and an application thereof. The maintainer line is constructed by introducing an exogenous T-DNA vector into a maize genome. Other than a fertility restoring gene having genic male sterility, the introduced exogenous T-DNA also contains at least two of the following three functional fragments: 1) an expression frame for expressing fluorescent protein in seed endosperms; 2) a DNA fragment capable of inhibiting the expression of corn herbicide resistance gene CYP81A9; and 3) a DNA fragment capable of inhibiting the expression of cell wall converting enzyme InCW2 specifically expressed in maize endosperm. The present invention simultaneously utilizes at least two of the three methods for discriminating transgenic and non-transgenic, thereby further reducing errors that may be caused by relying only on one discrimination (or selection) method. |
