Heat-generating material, and heat-generating system and heat supply method in which same is used |
abstract |
[Problem] To provide a heat-generating material in which it is possible to suppress decreases in hydrogen storage performance and heat release value during use at high temperature and which moreover has further improved physical properties such as hydrogen storage performance and heat release value. [Solution] A heat-generating material that includes a first metal having a melting point of 230°C or higher and a second metal having a higher melting point than that of the first metal, the heat-generating material being such that the first metal and/or the second metal has hydrogen solubility greater than that of silver at a temperature below the melting point of the second metal, a hydride of the first metal and/or second metal has a standard enthalpy of formation equal to or greater than the standard enthalpy of formation of CaH2, and the first metal and the second metal generate heat upon contact with hydrogen gas at a temperature below the melting point of the second metal. |
