abstract This myoelectric potential processing device (1) is provided with a storage device (10) which stores myoelectric potential data (11) of prescribed muscles, a preprocessing unit (22) which calculates the root mean square value of each prescribed time period of the myoelectric potential data (11) and generates root mean square data including the root mean square value of each time period, an onset detection unit (23) which, for a prescribed time period of the root mean square data, sets a moving window for onset detection, and which, if the average of the root mean square values in the moving window is higher than a threshold value, determines said time period to be an onset area, wherein the onset detection unit (23) is further provided with a threshold value determining unit (24) which, for a prescribed time period, sets a moving window for threshold value detection, and determines a threshold value on the basis of the average of the root mean square values in the moving window for threshold value detection.
