abstract [Problem] To provide a strip-shaped fabric for a hose with which the occurrence of bulges and yarn breakage can be prevented. [Solution] A strip-shaped fabric 14 for a hose that covers the outside of an inner tube rubber 12 of a hose 10 and the outside of which is covered by wire 16 and rubber 18, wherein: the strip-shaped fabric 14 is formed from warp yarns and weft yarns; the warp yarn elongation at break according to JIS L1095:2010 is at least 20%; and the warp yarn hot water dimensional change according to JIS L1013 is not more than 5% under conditions of 100°C hot water × 30 minutes.
