abstract |
The present invention provides: a method for more reliable anionic polymerization of a (meth)acrylic acid ester, the method enabling high living properties without sacrificing properties inherent in a (meth)acrylic polymer, such as transparency; and a method for more reliably producing a (meth)acrylic acid ester block polymer having high uniformity of molecular weight. In this method for anionic polymerization of a (meth)acrylic acid ester, a tertiary organic aluminum compound (A), an organic lithium compound (B) and at least one type of Lewis base (C) are present in a polymerization system. The tertiary organic aluminum compound (A) contains a tertiary organic aluminum compound (A1) that has a chemical structure in which two or more of the three bonds in an aluminum atom are bonded to an aromatic ring via an oxygen atom. The molar ratio (A2)/(A1) of a tertiary organic aluminum compound (A2) to the tertiary organic aluminum compound (A1) falls within the range 0-0.8%, the tertiary organic aluminum compound (A2) having a chemical structure in which one or fewer of the three bonds of an aluminum atom in the tertiary organic aluminum compound (A) is bonded to an aromatic ring via an oxygen atom. |
