abstract Provided is an endoscope system that prevents misidentification of results that use recognition processing and results that do not use recognition processing. The endoscope system (10) comprises: an image acquisition unit (54) that obtains images of a photographic subject; a recognition unit (72) that performs recognition processing whereby images are used and the photographic subject is recognized; a determination unit (73) that determines an operation for the photographic subject; a setting unit (74) that uses determination results from the determination unit and sets the recognition unit (72) to enabled or disabled; and a notification unit (65) that notifies the enabled or disabled state of the recognition unit (72).
