abstract Embodiments of the present application provide communication between a terminal and a base station, a network access method for terminal, and a device. The communication between a terminal and a base station comprises: the terminal sending a network access request frame carrying a first preamble to a relay device; the relay device receiving the network access request frame according to the first preamble, sending the network access request frame carrying a second preamble to the base station, and receiving a network access response frame returned by the base station, the length of the second preamble being less than that of the first preamble; and the terminal receiving the network access response frame sent by the relay device. In the embodiments of the present application, the terminal is capable of accessing a network via the relay device and of communicating with the base station. In the embodiments of the present application, an LoRaWAN radio frame format of the terminal is not changed, and only the length of preamble is increased. Therefore, the relay device does not adopt a proprietary frame structure, thereby providing superior compatibility with the LoRaWAN specification, and guaranteeing a uniform LoRa relay specification for manufacturers.
