abstract |
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a novel composition for suppressing fat accumulation, a novel composition for suppressing body weight gain, and a novel composition for promoting the production of ketone bodies. The present invention provides a composition for suppressing fat accumulation, for suppressing body weight gain, and/or for promoting the production of ketone bodies, that contains, as an active ingredient, a medium-chain fatty acid glyceride that contains a saturated fatty acid having 8 carbons as a constituent fatty acid. The ratio of the amount of saturated fatty acid having 8 carbons to the total amount of medium-chain fatty acid in this medium-chain fatty acid glyceride can be at least 0.6. The medium-chain fatty acid glyceride may also contain a saturated fatty acid having 10 carbons and/or a saturated fatty acid having 12 carbons as a constituent fatty acid. The medium-chain fatty acid glyceride is preferably a medium-chain fatty acid triglyceride. |
