abstract | The invention relates to an identification element for identifying a metal casting during the casting process, comprising a transponder which is at least partly, in particular completely, surrounded by a capsule (4) of one or more non-metallic materials, wherein the capsule has a first, inner layer (4a) of an inner layer material and a second, outer layer (4b) of an outer layer material at least partly, in particular completely, surrounding the inner layer, and wherein at least the outer layer material can be processed by means of casting or injection moulding below the melting temperature of the metal. By means of a two-layer design of the capsule, the material usage of heat-resistant material of the capsule can be minimised and nevertheless the transponder can be protected against the effects of temperature resulting from the metal melt. |
