abstract |
The present disclosure provides a method of implanting cells in a subject. In exemplary embodiments, the method comprises (a) implanting at a target site within the subject an apparatus comprising an exterior, an interior, at least one open end, and a pump connector, wherein at least a portion of the exterior comprises one or more perforations and at least a portion of the interior is hollow, and wherein one end of the pump connector connects to a pump and the other end of the pump connector connects to the apparatus; (b) applying a negative pressure at the target site; (c) introducing a population of cells into the interior of the apparatus; and (d) removing at least a portion of the apparatus and the introducer device from the target site. Related methods of preparing a target site in a subject for a cellular implant and methods of treatment are further provided. |
