titleOfInvention Kit and method for the colorimetric detection of a target nucleic acid in a sample
abstract The invention relates to a kit and a method for the colorimetric detection of a target nucleic acid in a sample by using metal nanoparticles having peroxidase-like catalytic activity. The kit and the method of the invention advantageously allow the detection of extremely small quantities of target nucleic acid present in the sample, even in the femtomolar range, without requiring a preliminary amplification of the target.
