abstract A method for producing a ceramic structure according to the present disclosure comprises: (A) a step for immersing a mat, formed from alumina-containing fibers having a fiber diameter of 3 to 8 µm and a length of 1 to 100 mm, in a slurry containing alumina-containing particles; (B) a step for applying a pressing force to the mat that has been subjected to step (A) in the direction of thickness of the mat; and (C) a step for heat treating the mat that has been subjected to step (B) while applying a pressing force to the mat in the direction of thickness of the mat, to obtain a ceramic structure that is a composite of the alumina-containing fibers and an alumina-containing matrix.
