titleOfInvention Signaling spatial region correspondence between virtual reality viewpoints
abstract A mechanism for virtual reality (VR) video coding is disclosed. The mechanism includes receiving a VR video signal filmed from a plurality of viewpoints. A spatial regional correspondence between viewpoints is determined. The spatial regional correspondence between viewpoints is encoded in a bitstream. The bitstream containing the correspondence between the two or more of the viewpoints is transmitted to support viewpoint switching when displaying the VR video signal.
