abstract | The present invention addresses the problem of providing an agent which makes it possible to prolong the lifespan of live lactic acid bacteria to a maximum extent in a lactic acid bacterium-containing beverage which is completely or substantially free of milk components. This agent for inhibiting reduction of viable lactic acid bacteria is an acidic additive for inhibiting reduction of viable bacteria added in a beverage (e.g., soft drink) which is completely or substantially free of milk components. The agent contains lactic acid and/or a salt thereof as an active ingredient. |
