abstract | Provided are water absorbent resin particles that have both a high apparent density and a high absorption rate without causing a reduction in mechanical strength. The present invention is water absorbent resin particles in which, with respect to sieved particles in the range of 300-600 μm, the volume ratio of particles having a particle defective degree (CONV) defined by formula (1) of 1% or less, is 50% or less, and the volume ratio of particles having a CONV of 8% or more, is 5% or less. (1): CONV (%) = {B/(A + B)} × 100 (A represents the projected area of a particle of interest obtained by an image analysis method, and B represents a value obtained by subtracting the projected area represented by A from a projected area surrounded by an envelope connecting protruding portions of the particle of interest obtained by an image analysis method.) |
