Provided is a film-sheathed lithium rechargeable battery which, while being provided with a lithium composite oxide sintered compact plate as a positive electrode plate, is resistant to wrinkling at the edge of the electrodes, even if the battery is flexed repeatedly. This lithium rechargeable battery comprises: a positive electrode which is a lithium composite oxide sintered compact plate; a negative electrode; a separator; an electrolyte solution; and a pair of sheathing films, the outer edges of which are sealed with one another to form an internal space and which houses the battery elements. The total thickness T1 of the outer edge does not exceed 110 µm, the height of T2p of protrusions on the positive electrode plate side of the sheathing film satisfies the relation T2p≥1.3T1, and the height T2n of protrusions on the negative electrode side of the sheathing film satisfies the relation T2n≥1.3T1. The distance Wp separating the edge of the positive electrode plate and the sheathing film on the positive electrode-side surface of the separator does not exceed 200 µm, and the distance Wn separating the edge of the negative electrode and the sheathing film on the negative electrode side surface of the separator does not exceed 200 µm. |
