titleOfInvention | Non-invasive device and method for strengthening cornea or sclera |
abstract | [Problem] The present invention provides a device and method for strengthening the cornea and the sclera in a non-invasive manner or suppressing the progress of diseases, wherein the device and method enable a treatment to be made in the course of daily life without peeling the corneal epithelium, unlike existing corneal crosslinking treatments which require patients to spend a certain amount of time in a medical institution. [Solution] The above described problem is solved by a non-invasive cornea and sclera strengthening device which emits violet light toward an eye administered with an administration agent used to strengthen cornea or sclera tissue, wherein the irradiance of the violet light on the surface of the eye is within the range of 0.1-1 mW/cm2, and the duration of the irradiation of the eye with the violet light is within the range of 1-5 hours per day. |
