A lithium secondary battery provided with a positive electrode, a separator, a negative electrode that faces the positive electrode with the separator interposed therebetween, and an electrolytic solution, wherein metal lithium is deposited on the negative electrode upon charging, the electrolytic solution contains an oxalate salt in which an oxalate complex acts as an anion and a lithium ion acts as a cation and also contains a dicarboxylic acid diester compound, and the dicarboxylic acid diester compound is contained in the electrolytic solution in an amount of 0.1% by mass or more and less than 10% by mass. |
