abstract This rental system is configured by including an information processing device which manages the usage situation, at a rental destination, of a portable electrical storage device that supplies power to a detachably connected electric apparatus. The information processing device acquires information pertaining to the usage situation of the portable electrical storage device, and estimates the type of the connected electric apparatus from measurement results of the voltage and current when the portable electrical storage device supplies power to the electric apparatus, the measurement results being included in the information pertaining to the usage situation. In addition, in cases in which the type of the connected electric apparatus cannot be estimated, the information processing device determines whether the electric apparatus shows desirable load characteristics for a battery provided in the portable electrical storage device, depending on whether a power supplying amount indicated by the measurement results is equal to or greater than a prescribed threshold.
