abstract This alkaline battery is provided with: a cylindrical battery case; a positive electrode which is filled in the battery case and which comprises a stack of 'n' pieces of hollow cylindrical pellets; a negative electrode disposed in the hollow part of the pellets; a separator disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode; and an alkaline electrolytic solution. The body of the battery case has a thickness of at most 0.15 mm. The positive electrode comprises manganese dioxide and a conductive agent, and 'n' is an integer of 3 or greater. At least one pellet positioned in the center of the stack in the height direction thereof has a first electrical resistance that is higher than a second electrical resistance of at least one pellet positioned at an end in the height direction of the stack.
