The invention relates to a method for operating an Otto engine (10), in which, when air is passing around the Otto engine (10) it is introduced into an exhaust tract (28) through which exhaust gas of the Otto engine (10) can flow, wherein the air is introduced into the exhaust tract (28) at at least one point (S) downstream of a first three-way catalytic converter (30) arranged in the exhaust tract (28) and upstream of a second three-way catalytic converter (32) arranged in the exhaust tract (28) downstream of the first three-way catalytic converter (30), while the Otto engine (10) is operated with a substoichiometric air-fuel ratio, whereby a desulphurisation of the second three-way catalytic converter (32) is brought about. |
