abstract The invention relates to a machine tool (20), for example a grinding machine and/or an eroding machine (21). The machine tool has a machine base (22) and an axle arrangement (23) for moving a tool carrier (25) and/or a workpiece clamping device (26) relative to the machine base (22). A transport device (75) having preferably exactly two transport spaces (76) for a respective tool assembly (27) is provided on the machine base (22). A robot arm (42) having a gripping device (44) is designed to grip and move either two workpieces (38) or alternatively a single tool assembly (27). As a result, a workpiece change can be carried out directly with the workpiece clamping device (26) via the robot arm (42) or a tool assembly (27) can be accommodated and arranged in the transport device (75) or removed from the transport device (75). The transport device (75) can be moved out of the working area (A) of the machine tool (20) and into the working area (A) and, in cooperation with the axle arrangement (23) of the machine tool (20), can perform an exchange of the tool assembly (27) on the tool carrier (25).
