titleOfInvention | Pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating mouth ulcer, containing alpha-lipoic acid as active ingredient |
abstract | The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating a mouth ulcer, containing alpha-lipoic acid as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, when radiation-induced oral mucosa is damaged, alpha-lipoic acid reduces squamous epithelial breakdown, epithelial atrophic changes and the like and increases the length of the squamous epithelium so as to restore the damaged oral mucosa, and can reduce apoptosis by reducing the expression of Hif-1a, GLUT1, p53, Bax and the like, which are apoptosis activating factors. Therefore, alpha-lipoic acid of the present invention having the above effects is effectively usable as a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating a mouth ulcer and a functional food composition for preventing or alleviating a mouth ulcer. |
