abstract The invention relates to a method for treating a phosphorus-containing material, comprising the following steps: providing a phosphorus-containing material with a first water content of 50 to 85 wt.-%, preferably 60 and 85 wt.-%, also preferably 60 to 67 wt.-%, particularly preferably 60 to 65 wt.-%; mixing the phosphorus-containing material with at least one potassium-containing substance in order to obtain a mixture; reducing the water content of the mixture to a second water content; thermally reacting the mixture, in particular under reducing conditions, in order to obtain a product. The invention also relates to a fertiliser or fertiliser additive, as well as the use of a product, which can each be produced with a method of this type.
