abstract A forceps 1 is equipped with: a sheath 2 provided with a clamping portion 6 at a distal end 21; a distal-side front handle 4 that supports a proximal end 22 of the sheath 2, and a proximal-side rear handle 5 connected to the front handle 4 so as to be capable of rotating with respect to the front handle 4; and a shaft 3 having one end 31 inserted into the hollow portion of the sheath 2 and connected to the clamping portion 6 and another end 32 connected to the rear handle 5, the shaft 3 being configured to move longitudinally in response to the rotation of the rear handle 5 to open and close the clamping portion 6. The front handle 4 and the rear handle 5 are made of resin.
