abstract Disclosed herein are computer-implemented communications systems for use with a network of mobile devices comprising: a digital processing device comprising a communications application comprising: a software module allowing a user to create a digital business card by selecting information from a list of information automatically generated; a software module generating a unique code on the digital business card which expires after a period of time; a software module allowing a second user to scan the unique code before it expires thereby receiving the digital business card; a software module automatically querying a central sever with the scanned unique code or the received digital business card to: automatically identify an account of the user associated with the communications application; automatically connect the identified account of the user and an account of the second user; and automatically notify the user or the second user of the connection.
