titleOfInvention | Circularly polarizing plate and display device |
abstract | The present invention relates to a polarizing plate (1) provided with a polarizer (2), a first phase difference layer (3), and a second phase difference layer (4), the in-plane phase difference value Re(λ) at wavelength λ [nm] of the first phase difference layer (3) satisfying the relationships Re(450) < Re(550) < Re(650) and 100 nm ≤ Re(550) ≤ 200 nm, the second phase difference layer (4) satisfying the relationship Nz > Nx ≥ Ny, where Nx is the refractive index in the in-plane slow-axis direction, Ny is the refractive index in the in-plane fast-axis direction, and Nz is the refractive index in the thickness direction, and the phase difference value Rth(λ) in the thickness direction at wavelength λ [nm] of the second phase difference layer (4) satisfying the expression -300 nm ≤ Rth(550) ≤ -20 nm, the slow axis direction of the first phase difference layer (3) being in a range of 40° to 50° or -50° to -40°, the counterclockwise direction being positive, from the absorption axis direction of the polarizer (2), and the bending direction of a display device being set in a range of -5° to 5° or 85° to 95° with respect to the absorption axis direction of the polarizer (2). |
