abstract This light absorbing composition contains a light absorbent which is formed from a specific phosphonic acid and a copper ion, and an alkoxy silane monomer in which the light absorbent is dispersed; but this light absorbing composition does not contain a phosphoric acid ester which has a polyoxyalkyl group. This light absorbing composition is configured to contain the alkoxy silane monomer so that: the normalized transmittance spectrum has a wavelength range wherein the spectral transmittance is 70% or higher at a wavelength of from 300 nm to 700 nm; and the difference between the maximum wavelength and the minimum wavelength in the above-described wavelength range is 100 nm or more.
