abstract A secondary battery, according to an embodiment of the present invention, for resolving a problem comprises: an electrode assembly in which a cathode, an anode and a separator are wound or stacked; at least one insulation plate disposed on or beneath the electrode assembly; and a battery case, which accommodates the electrode assembly, the insulation plate and an electrolyte and is sealed by a cap assembly, wherein the insulation plate comprises: a peripheral part, which is formed into a disk ring shape and is made of a material including a hard material; and a central part, which extends inwardly from an inner circumferential surface of the peripheral part and is made of a high heat resistant material.
