abstract Provided is an image processing device which is capable of synthesizing freely without discomfort a 3D model of an object such as furniture with a two-dimensional background image. The image processing device is provided with: an arrangement setting unit which sets an arrangement site of an object on a floor plan of a real estate item; a 3D location estimation unit which estimates the location of the object, which corresponds to the arrangement site of the object on the floor plan, in a 3D space surrounded by a celestial sphere image acquired as a background image; a shadow generation unit which generates a shadow generated by arranging a 3D model at the object location; an object layer generation unit which generates a first layer obtained by rendering an image obtained by projecting the 3D model onto the surface of the celestial sphere, which is the same as the background image, with the center of the 3D space employed as the projection center; a shadow layer generation unit which generates a second layer by rendering an image obtained by projecting the shadow on the surface of the celestial sphere with the center of the 3D space employed as the projection center; and an image synthesizing unit which synthesizes the first and second layers with the background image.
