The present invention pertains to an anti-rust coating composition which comprises: an alkyl silicate condensation product (A) having a weight average molecular weight of 1,500-8,000; zinc powder (B); and at least one type of pigment (C) selected from the group consisting of extender pigments, rust preventive pigments, and color pigments, wherein the mass ratio ((B)/(C)) between the zinc powder (B) and the pigment (C) is 2.0-5.0, and the pigment volume concentration (PVC) is 60-70%. The anti-rust coating composition according to the present invention has a prolonged pot-life, is capable of forming, by means of a conventional coating machine, a coating film of at most 10 μm in average dry film thickness, and further enables forming of an anti-rust coating film that, even in such a thin film, exhibits excellent corrosion protection performance and demonstrates superior weldability with respect to a steel material. |
