abstract |
The invention relates to a cartridge for use in a water purification apparatus and a method for purifying water to maintain a water quality feed. The cartridge includes an elongated tubular body having first and second ends including a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet, and an inner chamber extending between the first and second ends. The first end includes an end cap having a first opening in fluid communication with the body. Disinfectant material is disposed in the inner chamber of the body. Filters are disposed in the elongated tubular body adjacent the first opening and adjacent to the second end of the elongate tubular body and are in fluid communication with the inner chamber and the fluid outlet. The second end of the elongate tubular body includes an outer surface having a tapered portion and a linear portion adjacent the tapered portion. |
