abstract In various embodiments of the present invention, an electrochemical process is used to remove at least a portion of a substrate from multiple discrete or non-separated optoelectronic or electronic device chips. The chips can be attached to a sub-assembly for the removal process, and the chips can be immersed or in contact without immersion with an electrolyte during the removal process.
