abstract Methods and systems for flotation recovery of valuable materials from sulphide mineral sources Flotation recovery of valuable materials is performed in a fluidized bed flotation cell using collection materials which comprise at least one hydrocarbyl group and at least one functional group comprising sulfur on the hydrocarbyl group, and the hydrocarbyl group comprising 2 aliphatic carbons or more and at least 6 total carbon atoms. The methods and systems of the present invention advantageously allow improved recovery of coarse particles, which reduces the time and energy expenditure during the sample milling steps. The methods and systems of the present invention do not exhibit harmful foaming behaviors that may be associated with long chain collectors usually having 6 or more carbon atoms. Systems and methods can be incorporated into existing treatment systems to process samples before or after conventional treatment steps.
