abstract The present invention relates to an eyeglass assembly with a bridge frame having branch tongue through holes and lens retainers; a nose bridge insert; at least one lens in a single lens configuration having tabs configured to fit into the lens frame retainers of the bridge frame such that the lens tabs, or an associated portion, protrude through through holes branch tongue. In some embodiments, the spectacles are frameless, having first and second leg tabs having branch tongue through holes and lens lock members; at least one lens in a single lens configuration having lens tabs, lens retention pitches and tab locking notches; and a nose bridge insert. In some embodiments, the spectacle assembly has a bridge frame having an integral nose bridge, two lenses, each lens having a lens tab, and a lens retention step, further having a lens hook. In still other embodiments, the spectacle assembly includes lens receiving portions having unique capture characteristics for retaining lenses having lens tabs, lens retention steps, and / or hooks and clips. capture configured to removably capture and retain the lens as a whole. Other embodiments further include a tilting frame.
